Other entries:  In case you didn't know what this was all about:
"The Assembly demo party is a demoscene and gaming event in Finland. The main organizers of the event are Pekka Aakko (Pehu of Accession) and Jussi Laakkonen (Abyss of Future Crew). The event takes place every year between late July and early August, and lasts three to four days. The most recent Assembly was held from the 5th to 8th August 2010 at Hartwall Areena in Helsinki.

In the beginning of the year 2007 Assembly Winter was announced. The new winter party is a more gaming oriented event in Tampere where the summer events continues the traditions of the original demoparty in Helsinki under the name Assembly Summer. Both parties will be held once a year." -Wikipedia
The first Assembly was held 1992 at Kauniainen, Finland. It was organized by Amiga demo groups Complex and Rebels, and the PC demo group Future Crew.

The 8-Bit Dr. Horrible Project

Great pixel art. Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Game:
"The 8-Bit Dr. Horrible project is an interpretation of Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog as a theoretical Nintendo game. All music, sound effects, graphics and animation were created by me as a tribute to Dr. Horrible (Joss Whedon) and the NES." -Doctor Octoroc
Programs used in the creation:
  1. Graphics: Adobe Photoshop
  2. Animation: Adobe Flash
  3. Sequencing: FL Studio
  4. Instruments: NES+MidiNES
  5. Mastering: Adobe Soundbooth
  6. Sound Effects: SFXR
There was a plan to turn the whole project to a fully playable game, but unfortunately it has been put to ice due to some legal issues.
"I’m currently trying to get I just got in touch with a contact over at Mutant Enemy about turning 8-Bit Dr. Horrible into a playable game for various platforms (PC/MAC, XBox Live, PSN and possibly others)." -Doctor Octoroc

    Favela Painting

    Damn great! Painting them...
"Haas&Hahn is the working title of artistic duo Jeroen Koolhaas and Dre Urhahn. They started working together in 2005, when they filmed a documentary about hip hop in the favelas of Rio and São Paolo for MTV. Inspired by this visit, they embarked on a journey to bring outrageous works of art to unexpected places, starting with painting enormous murals in the slums of Brazil together with the local youth." -Favelapainting.com

    Rapumies

A project of Mike Arvela, composer originating from the tracker and chiptune scene.
"Rapumies is slowly but steadily working on his first record, to be released under the name Lobsterfest. Even though his tunes contain strong influences from chiptune-ish music, he tries to combine the things he likes best about different kinds of genres." -Rapumies.com

Government Requests Directed to Google and YouTube

Some fucked up shit but nice information at the same time.
"Like other technology and communications companies, we regularly receive requests from government agencies around the world to remove content from our services, or provide information about users of our services and products. The map shows the number of requests that we received between July 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009, with certain limitations." -Google.com

        Die Antwoord

Die Antwoord, some strange Zef Rap shit from South Africa. Zef being an Afrikaans term which loosely translates to the American equivalent of Redneck.

Ridiculous and absurd but kind of innovative though. I have no idea how serious they are with this stuff.

        Vauhti Speed Oy

A company with a strange/funny name which is a "clear" reference to the drug amphetamine. They do sell a lot of stuff to help you ski faster...
